At First Light Counseling, we believe that everyone deserves to experience the growth and positive outcomes that therapy can bring. Our multidisciplinary team has experience working with clients suffering from a wide array of issues. We believe that therapy is an investment. This is why we are intentional about every aspect of our practice. The second you walk in the door at First Light Counseling, we want you to feel peace.
We also strive to maintain absolute confidentiality and uphold all other regulatory standards set forth by the Texas State Board. Our team understands that a relationship between a client and therapist cannot be achieved without absolute privacy.
If the diagnosis of a clinical issue is expected ‐ instead of doing an internet search and coming with predetermined labels, we ask that you give your therapist a chance to work with you. Our therapists are intentional about not labeling people with a diagnosis just because it seems to “fit.” We must take the time to assess and determine whether the symptomatic presentation of the client correlates a diagnosis. We know that a mental health diagnosis is serious business because it is something that follows someone throughout the duration of their life. We do not take that responsibility lightly.
Our therapists will treatment plan with you in a way that will directly address your needs as a client. We know that a "cookie cutter" experience is ineffective because we are all unique. We strive to offer our clients kindness and respect. While each therapist possesses their own set of spiritual beliefs and we operate under the umbrella of Christian counseling, we do not expect any of our clients to share the same beliefs or value systems that we hold dear.
We believe that therapy is a judgment‐free zone. The therapy office can withstand the discomfort associated with life’s darkest issues. Our approach is not necessarily to just get rid of the symptoms, but rather to find the root of it so that we can develop healthier ways to process it. This approach applies to fear, pain, anger, guilt, shame, loneliness, addiction, stress, anxiety, depression and the whole range of human emotions and experiences.
By offering wisdom, accountability, experience, and a safe therapeutic environment, we hope to call out the best version of you. We intend to show you how to harness your individual gifts so that you can be a blessing to those around you. Our theory is that effective therapy will advance our clients in the areas of relationships, career, and spiritual growth.
We are open and seeing clients in person. You can call the office at (817) 756‐1440 or send an email to email@example.com to set up an appointment.
